About the Series
Caelan Cardello and Jonny Gittings are the creators of the Jazz Series. With the assistance of those at Our Lady of Consolation and the Wayne Library, their initiative has created a series of concerts impressive in their styles and variety. Graduates of the Jazz Studies and Performance program at William Paterson University, they have displayed skills both musical and entrepreneurial with the development of the concerts.
Our Lady of Consolation is the home for the Jazz Series concerts. Pastored by Father Michael D. Lombardo, this vibrant Parish is part of the Diocese of Paterson, and has a history of presenting performances featuring soloists all the way to full orchestras. Father Michael’s enthusiasm for both the performing and visual arts, and the unique structure and acoustics of the beautiful church space makes Our Lady of Consolation a great home for Jazz!
The Wayne Public Library supports the Jazz Series by funding several performers, providing marketing and outreach, as well as content creation that enhance the artists’ performances with engaging interviews. Librarian Patty Slezak has brought her passion for the advancement of jazz music to the series as the Library’s representative.
